Well, I’m now on my second modem from o2, same brand of HUAWEI. The first modem was quite obviously causing the blue screen of death (Window’s XP) because when you plugged it out, the computer crashed, but the new one isn’t so blatant. If it goes to sleep, I get blue screen in the morning when I come in, it’s only because the blue screen stopped happening when I immediately replaced the modem (and was without it for a while) that I know it’s the modem itself rather than some other problem.
Honestly most customers won’t be able to pinpoint that it’s their modem causing this!! It seems to be something to do with the fact that the modem installs itself as a cd-rom drive, I don’t know of any cure, just wanted to post it here in case other people are googling it, I would recommend upgrading the modem entirely, they must know of this particular problem in the tech department, as ‘broken’ modems would have been crashing their computers too, so hopefully they have fixed it with newer models..
